The 9th annual Northern Ohio Marathon will consist of Lake County's first and only marathon, along with a Half Marathon & 5-Person Relay.
The marathon and half marathon will utilize the Mentor Senior Center parking lot as the races starting and finish points. They will wind through northern Mentor, along Lake Erie and back.
Relay Information: A team of five runners will complete the entire marathon distance. Each runner will run one leg of varying distance handing off a slap bracelet containing your scoring chip to the next team member at each relay exchange zone. The course is the same as the full marathon course and the start time is the same time as the regular marathon. Relay runners are responsible for getting to and from the relay zones.
The Northern Ohio Marathon Relay approximate race distances will be as follows:
START >> Relay 1: 6.4 miles - Exchange at: Wake Robin Boardwalk Trail, on Woodridge Ln.
>> Relay 2: 3.6 miles - Exchange at: Shore Middle School
>> Relay 3: 6.5 miles - Exchange at: Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve & Marina, 8365 Harbor Dr., Mentor, OH 44060
>> Relay 4: 5.2 miles - Exchange at: Ice cream shop, 8957 Lakeshore Blvd, Mentor, OH 44060
>> Relay 5: 4.5 miles - Exchange at: Finish Line, Mentor Senior Center
The divisions include:
>> 1) All male
>> 2) All female
>> 3) Coed
All relay runners will receive a race shirt along with a finisher medal.
Timing / Scoring / Boston Qualifier: YES, the new Northern Ohio Marathon course is a Boston Marathon qualifying event as the course is receiving a new USATF certification number.

Pacers: Marathon Pacing will be providing pacers for the Half Marathon event. Sorry, no pacers for the full marathon, but since it's a double loop, you can join a pace group for the first half. To see the pacers, CLICK HERE.
Water Stops: We will have water stops at approximate miles 1.5, 3, 5, 6.5, 8.5, 10, 12, 13.1 (double that for the double loop marathon route)
Restrooms: We will have porta-potties on the course. Locations TBD.
